Gooseberry Lake Provincial Park is a small provincial park (0.9km2) located in eastern Central Alberta near the Saskatchewan border. It was created in 1932 making it one of Alberta’s older provincial parks. The lake is a great location for birding and camping.

Summer at Gooseberry Lake

Popular summer activities at Gooseberry Lake include biding, fishing, hiking (front country), camping, group camping, and mountain biking. This lake is designated as an important bird area due to its large numbers of shorebirds stopping over during their migrations.

There land activities that visitors can enjoy such as golfing at the golf course located in the park, enjoying a rodeo on fathers day weekend just north of the park, or stargazing at the billions of stars visible in the dark skies above Gooseberry Lake.
