About Whitemud Falls

Whitemud Falls Wildland Provincial Park is located in Northern Alberta in Wood Buffalo. It is located along the Clearwater River at the Whitemud Falls waterfall. The eastern border of the park is also Alberta’s border with Saskatchewan. The park is about 38 square kilometers in size making it one of Alberta’s smaller Wildland Provincial Parks.

Summers at Whitemud Falls WPP are short and warm while winters are very long and cold. Temperatures rarely reach over 30 degrees Celsius in the park. Erosion has created various stacks, gullies, fissures, and caves through the Clearwater River valley in this area.

Access to the park is by aircraft only. You will need authorization from Alberta parks to land in the park.
